On behalf of Sarah Blanchette, a transgender woman, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) has settled on mutually satisfactory terms a lawsuit against St. Anselm College of Manchester, New Hampshire. The college fired Ms. Blanchette, a computer programmer, in April 2004, after learning that she would be transitioning from male to female.

ACLU and Lambda Legal Challenge Law Barring Transgender People Access to Medical Treatment in Prison (1/24/2006)

MILWAUKEE, WI ? Lambda Legal and the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit today in federal court on behalf of two transgender women challenging a Wisconsin law that bars them from access to appropriate medical treatment while they are incarcerated.
